The Uchallambi Icons - Book Review
Book: The Uchallambi Icons
Author: Praveena Bhaduri
From Mumbai to Nairobi to Bangkok to Nice and then finally back to Mumbai. Three girls, Pia, Deepti, and Anushka must run to keep themselves alive and to find answers to questions. Amidst the chaos, Pia struggles with memory lapses. All of this, for three Uchallambi icons, which the girls randomly picked up whilst shopping. These antiques have a value of over millions of bucks and more so over there is a rather tempting folklore associated with them, however, these same antiques are also items of interest for larger than life, mystery, tattooed gang. Will they spare Pia, Deepti and Anushka? Or will the girls figure a way out before one of them takes the fall? Yes, they do have help, can girls trust them though? Read the tale to find out.
To read or not to read:
The story plot is indeed a unique one and will keep you engaged as it unfolds itself. The story pace is quite fast and if you are up to it, you can finish this one in a day as well. The story could be presented in a much better way to keep the readers engaged; it peaks in between and then slows down towards the end. Certain twists and introduction of folklore are too abrupt, which could have been more descriptive while the end could have been more specific and to the point. Overall, a good read for those who want to amuse themselves with a simple mystery tale.
